Newman Youth Catechesis (NYC)

Newman Youth Catechesis (NYC) is a program for high school youth (grades 9-12). The 2007-2008 school year sessions will be supplemented by a lock-in at Newman, one beach retreat, cook-out, possible ski trip, and more. Social justice issues will be addressed through work at the IFC Kitchen and other volunteer opportunities in our community. Sacramental preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation is a two year process beginning in the ninth grade. Click here for more information about Confirmation. Through worship, prayer, educational and social gatherings, we form community.

Newman’s Youth Catechesis~NYC (High School) will meet from 12:30pm to 2:00pm at the Newman Center on the following dates:

September 16, 23, and 30

October 7, 14, and 28

November 4 and 18

December 2, 9, and 16

January 13 and 27

February 3, 10, 17, and 24

March 2, and 16 (CHCSS Spring Break March 24-28)

April 6, 13, 20, and 27

May 4

Wash for Life is on Saturday, September 15.
The NYC lock-in is on Saturday, September 28.
The NYC Beach retreat date is November 10-12.
