Welcome, new and returning students! You can use this website to keep up to date with the all the happenings that are going on around here. Use the links to your left to find information about Newman events, such as upcoming CCM activities and ways to get involved. Each week's announcements can be found below. Happenings at Newman

  • Want to get involved? Click here for the weekly calendar and upcoming events.
  • Join our summer campus ministry listserv! Send an email to Kelly Dunlop to be kept abreast of summer student nights and events.
  • Also, Class of 2008’s Baccalaureate Mass is Saturday May 10 at 5:15pm. You and your family are invited to celebrate the Eucharist with the Newman community in honor of your graduation. Please wear your cap and gown! If you want to request a song, please email Dani and if you’d like to serve as a liturgical minister, please email Shaun.
  • Free Pizza! Take an exam break with us on Tuesday, April 29th at 7:00 pm at Newman for our Exam Pizza Break! Planning on staying in Chapel Hill this summer?
  • Come join your fellow Newmanites in serving God by serving the homeless of Chapel Hill at the IFC Shelter. We cook breakfast every other Tuesday morning. The next date will Tuesday, April 29th. Volunteers will meet at 5:30a.m. at the shelter and then dropped back home at about 7:15a.m. Rides can be arranged. Please contact Tricia Ryan if you'd like to help.
  • Want to share your musical talents with the Newman community? Join the CCM Choir! If you are interested in joining the choir, please contact Danielle Nowell or Kevin Schroeder for more information.
  • Are you interested in becoming Catholic or learning about the Catholic Faith? The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is the process by which interested persons are initiated and welcomed into the Catholic Church. Our gathering are held on Wednesday from 7:30 to 9:30 pm in the Newman Library. Sessions will then continue every Wednesday from 7:30 to 9:30 pm in the Newman Library. If you have any questions about RCIA please contact Brant and Sarah Hamel.
  • Any UNC student wishing to make an appointment with Fr. John should contact Isabel Kovalik at 929-3730.
  • For information about Marriage, call the Parish office at 929-3730.
 
Ready for Exams? The Newman Center will be available 24 hours for all students who would like to study here. We’ve got wireless and plenty of seating! There's also free food in the kitchen to fuel your studies. We will be having exam prayer services at 10pm every night before an exam day.
