Do you...

  • Think religion is only about rules and memorized prayer?
  • Think religion is only a "You, me and God" arrangement?
  • Think you are the only person your age who believes that God is important in your life?
  • Hunger for a deeper faith and relationship with God?
  • Want or need to put your life in some bigger perspective?
  • Not to know what to think about any of this?

... well then, consider the Encounter With Christ Retreat!!

What is it?

Encounter is a time to "get away from it all" and reflect on one's goals, values and relationships with others and God. It helps us to integrate our faith into the whole of our lives and to share that wholeness with others. It is a series of presentations and activities that ar e prepared and given by a team of young adults.

Who is it for?

For adults (18-35), this retreat is open to single, single again and married men and women. People participate in the Encounter program for various reasons. Some go to experience something different, others for fellowship with other people their age. Some have a strong faith and are active in the Church, while many others are still questioning God's presence and are not active in the Church.

What you need to know...

Encounter retreats will begin on Friday evening at 7:30 p.m. and concludes on Sunday by 3 p.m. The cost of the weekend is $75 and includes all meals, lodging and needed materials. Encounters are held at Short Journey Center in the country near Smithfield, North Carolina. Directions and further information will be sent to those who register.

Join the Encounter Team!

You can support Encounter in many ways. You can serve on an Encounter team as a facilitator or an UPS member; you can write palancas and support those attending with your prayers; and you can come to the closing mass. The most direct way you can support Encounter is to be a part of team.

If you would like to be trained to be on an Encounter team, please email Salina Kohut RIGHT AWAY!

For those of you who have been on an Encounter team before, we encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity. If you have been previously trained to be on an Encounter team and would like to attend the leadership retreat/team training, please email Salina.
